AirTags to be announced next month alongside iOS 14.3 replacing AirPods Studio launch, says leaker

A leak today suggested that Apple will be supposedly delaying the AirPods Studio due to production issues. Adding to that, another leak suggests that Apple will be launching AirTags instead.

According to Jon Prosser, who has an 84.7 percent reliability score as per AppleTrack—a website that tracks the reliability of leakers, “it now looks like Apple is going to launch AirTags after all.”

He says that currently, AirTags are “on schedule” to be launched alongside iOS 14.3 which is due next month because as iOS 14.3 will contain features enabled for AirTags on supported iPhones. Citing the reason for the switch Apple’s release lineup, Prosser says that “Unlike AirPods Studio, AirTags are and have been done & ready. It’s not even about production timelines for this product, at this point.”

This rumor contradicts the previous rumor that suggested AirTags may launch in March 2021. However, Apple reportedly held an important meeting internally that is poised to change Apple’s launch lineup this year.

Due to the surprising nature of Apple and the year 2020 itself, you should take this rumor with a pinch of salt. However, if it’s true, AirTags are on the way soon and could be announced alongside Apple’s first ARM Macs in an event next month. At the same time, people who were excited about AirPods Studio may feel disappointed.
