Leaker suggests forthcoming AirPods Pro will come in two sizes

A new leak suggests that Apple is planning on launching the upcoming version of its AirPods Pro earbuds in two sizes.

Leaker Mr. White took to Twitter to share some images of upcoming AirPods components out of which, the components for the AirPods Pro are showcased in two different sizes.

The third image also suggests that Apple will include a W2 chip in the new AirPods Pro. Apple replaced the W1 chip with the H1 chip in the second-gen AirPods and the AirPods Pro. So, there’s a high chance Apple will stick to the H-series SiPs and not revert back to the W-series chips.

This isn’t the first we’re hearing about the upcoming AirPods lineup. Bloomberg, in late October, revealed that Apple was planning on producing two new AirPods models—AirPods (3rd Gen) and AirPods Pro (2nd Gen). This conflicts with today’s leak which suggests Apple is planning an additional AirPods Pro model in a new size.

Mr. White has had a mixed track record when it comes to leaking information about Apple products. He correctly predicted that the iPhone 12 lineup will sport the same notch like the iPhone X alongside the prediction that the iPhone 12 lineup will launch alongside a new 20W power adapter. Still, it is advisable to consider today’s leak with a grain of salt.

It’s also unclear when these AirPods will launch in 2021.

Apple also recently launched the highly-rumored AirPods Max headphones costing $549. These come in five different colors.
