Popular DJ software maker Serato has recently updated its offerings, DJ Pro and DJ Lite, to include support or macOS Big Sur and M1 chips. The updated versions particularly include Serato DJ Pro version 2.5.0 and Serato DJ Lite version 1.5.0.

Killing two birds with one stone, macOS 11 Big Sur users will be able to finally use the software as well as take advantage of the native speeds the M1 chip offers in the latest MacBook Air, Pro, and Mac mini.

Ensuring its DJ software is compatible with the latest operating system is a bit tricky especially due to the fact that new versions bring along a bunch of under-the-hood changes that might break certain functionalities within Serato’s applications.

Despite the fact that the software now supports Big Sur and the M1 chip in the newer Macs, Serato warns that “Live streaming via the Make Audio Output Available to Other Applications feature, is currently not supported for M1 users on Serato DJ Pro 2.5.0 and Serato DJ Lite 1.5.0.”

Additionally, Serato also notes that before upgrading, ensure that you check the list of Serato DJ Primary hardware that is supported, in testing, or currently unsupported. You can check out the list here.

Serato DJ Pro is available at a monthly subscription of $9.99 while Serato DJ Lite is available for free.
