Here’s how to preorder the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE

Apple just released two new Apple Watches—the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE. The Apple Watch Series 6 is priced at $399 and the Apple Watch SE is priced at $279. Both are available to preorder today and will start shipping Friday.

The Apple Watch Series 6 is the flagship version while the SE is, you guessed it, the budget version of the Series 6. The former features a faster S6 processor with improved ECG monitoring and blood oxygen detection. It also has a brighter Always-on Display for outdoor viewing.

The latter, on the other hand, features last year’s S5 processor that Apple says is 2x faster than the Apple Watch Series 3. What’s more? The Apple Watch SE features the same design as the Apple Watch Series 6 but lacks ECG and blood oxygen monitoring as expected. However, Apple has added fall detection to the Apple Watch SE.

Furthermore, these watches will also come with new band options—the Solo Loop and the Braided Solo Loop. Both bands don’t have any sort of connection in the middle and instead can be adjusted by simply stretching them. The Apple Watches themselves come in updated colors—a polished gold stainless steel finish, a graphite stainless steel, and a new Product Red model. The Product Red model is a new addition and looks amazing in my opinion.

Apart from that, the new Apple Watches also feature a host of new watch faces most of which animate when you lift your wrist. Those include the GMT, Memoji, Count Up, Chronograph, Stripe, and Typography Watch Faces.

Both watches run the watchOS 7 firmware that brings additional features like Sleep Tracking to the Apple Watch.

How to preorder the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE?

The Apple Watch Series 6 costs starting $399 and the Apple Watch SE starts at $279. Both models can be upgraded based on their size and if you want a cellular+WiFi instead of a WiFi only version, you’ll have to pay $50 more.

You can preorder both Apple Watches starting today and will be available Friday. You can do that by heading over to the Apple Watch section on Apple’s website or through the Apple Store app that you can download on your iPhone and iPad.

If I were you, I would hurry to secure the preorder since there’s a chance all the preorder units will be sold out pretty soon.
