‘AirPods Studio’ headphones may not be available until the “end of this month or the beginning of the next,” according to new leak

Mock AirPods Studio Headphones

A new leak suggests that the rumored Apple-branded headphones dubbed AirPods Studio won’t be available until later this month or the beginning of November. This leak also opens up possibilities that the AirPods Studio headphones’ announcement could be done via a press leak later this month or pushed back to a November event.

Hit-and-miss leaker Jon Prosser took to Twitter to reveal new information regarding Apple’s upcoming AirPods Studio headphones. Apparently, his sources say that the mass production for AirPods Studio headphones won’t complete until October 20.

Since the production is reportedly delayed, he is unsure if Apple will proceed to reveal the headphones at the October 13 event. He says Apple could opt to launch them via a press release later this month (he’s been wrong about this before) or entirely push back the announcement to a November event where the company is also expected to launch its first-ever ARM Macs.

Prosser has been wrong about this stuff in the past. We’ll have to wait and watch what occurs further.

The new Apple-branded over-the-head headphones, purportedly to be called AirPods Studio are supposed to be the most premium headphones in the AirPods lineup. Considering that, they are expected to retain most features from the AirPods Pro including Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancelation.

The AirPods Studio headphones are expected to feature modular earpads and headbands, bringing them in line with the Apple Watch in terms of customizability. What’s more, the AirPods Studio headphones are also expected to feature Apple’s proprietary U1 chip to automatically make out the positioning of the left and right ear. The headphones may use this data to offer spatial audio, which Apple recently enabled in the AirPods Pro as part of iOS 14.

The delay in availability means many will be disappointed as a lot of people were anticipating the launch of the Apple-branded headphones.

Apple is also expected to announce a new HomePod mini alongside Apple’s tile-like location trackers dubbed AirTags at the October 13 event.
